Abstract

Effects of optoelectronic feedback on the dynamics of the semiconductor laser diode have attracted considerable attention. The optoelectronic feedback is utilized to generate optical short pulses[l] or to realize optical bistable devices[2]. In this paper we report self-pulsing, subharmonic generation, bistability, and chaos in a stable laser diode with delayed optoelectronic feedback.
