Abstract

Compact and reliable blue and/or green coherent light sources are required for high density optical data storage, color image processing, and optical measurements. However, semiconductor lasers themselves using wide band-gap semiconductors, e.g., ZnSe/ZnS, have not yet been oscillated by continuous current injection at room temperature.
