Abstract

For a focusing Kerr medium, the process of light self-trapping is basically described by a (l+l)-dimensional nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS), whose solutions relax to robust sech-shaped solitons when optical beams only undergo anomalous group-velocity dispersion (G VD).
