Watt-Level 2.3 μm Thulium Laser with Intracavity Upconversion Pumping

Abstract

A Tm:YLF laser operating on the 3H43H5 transition is intracavity upconversion pumped at 1.05 μm by a diode-pumped Nd:ASL laser. The continuous-wave 2.3-μm Tm-laser delivers 1.59 W at 35 W of laser diode power.
