Non-Redundant Array of Serpentine Optical Phased Array Beamsteering Tiles for 3-D Computational Lidar Imaging

Abstract

A 2-dimensional non-redundant array of frequency-shifted beams transmitted by 2-D wavelength-beamsteering Si-photonic serpentine optical phased-array tiles interfere pairwise to produce traveling fringes. Detected backscatter probes the 3-D spatial Fourier components and enables Fourier synthetic-aperture LIDAR 3-D imaging of the illuminated target.
