Double-Pulse Excitation and Control of Coherent Phonons in the Semimetal WTe2

Abstract

Using ultrafast double-pulse spectroscopy, we demonstrate coherent control of the 2.39 THz optical phonon mode in bulk WTe2. By adjusting the delay between successive pump pulses, we reduce the phonon amplitude by a factor of two.
