Abstract
The Q-switched Nd: YAG laser is one of the most popular in a series of pulsed solid-state laser systems for dermatology and plastic surgery applications. The 532nm wavelength has been shown to be absorbed by a variety of chromophores. These include oxy-hemoglobin, melanin-containing epidermal cells and red tattoo pigments to name a few. However, for some medical treatments the physician may need additional wavelengths in the yellow-red spectral range.
