Abstract
Nonequilibrium plasmas in particular Nanosecond Repetitively Pulsed (NRP) discharges are interesting for enhancing the performance of combustion systems due to the generation of large numbers of radicals that modify flame reaction pathways. Tailoring plasma properties for the improvement of combustion requires a fundamental understanding of plasmas and their interaction with flames. In this paper examples of fundamental kinetic and dynamic studies using advanced spectroscopic diagnostics are presented.
