Abstract

It is of interest to characterize temperature fields from laser-induced breakdown plasmas in a temporal regime well separated from the breakdown initiating laser pulse. The post-breakdown emission spectra are predominantly recombination molecular spectra. The use of such spectra has been previously demonstrated to yield high temperatures for CN.1
