Laser-Induced Fluorescence Measurements For Combustion Chemistry

Abstract

Chemical kinetic processes form the governing factor in several key problems in combustion. Classic examples include ignition and inhibition phenomena, the formation of pollutants such as NOX, SOX and soot, and the emission of radiation in the ultraviolet and visible regions of the spectrum. A proper description of these processes is a complex network embodying a large number of reactive species and chemical reactions, with initiation and propagation steps generally depending on the concentrations of trace intermediate species.
