Abstract
The demand of the data storage devices for multimedia has been increasing in recent years. Especially the compact size, large capacity, a high speed transfer rate and ROM and RAM concurrent disk system was expected. One of the technical approaches to achieve these requirements is the combination of the laser pulse irradiation magnetic field modulation recording method (P-MFM method) with sampled servo method[1]. We achieve the density of 2.3Gbits/inch2 by using these technology applied for conventional disks. Table 1 shows the main specification and figure 1 shows the structure of a new developed disk system.
