Arbitrary and independent period control of bidimensional periodic wavefronts by generalized self-imaging

Abstract

We demonstrate a generalization of the concept of self-imaging, that allows to create diffraction-induced self-images of a periodic two-dimensional waveform with arbitrary and independent control of the image periods along the x and y dimensions.
