Abstract

We have developed an apparatus for producing BEC that allow for very high confinements with very low power. Our system is based on the use of an iron core electromagnet [1]. This allows us to achieve BEG in high bias fields [2], or with very high aspect ratios. The latest developments of our electromagnet design should allow us to realize Quasi-1D or 1D condensates.
