Abstract

The Study of polyenes and their oligomers is important for nonlinear optics because of their large third-order non linearities, their role as model conjugated systems, and their widespread use as a building block for nonlinear optical molecules. The dependence of the third order nonlinearity γ on the number of double bonds N has received substantial theoretical attention.1,2
