On the Generalized Master Equation Approach to the Regularly Pumped Micromaser

Abstract

We discuss the applicability of a recently proposed generalized master equation,[1] which takes into account the statistics of the pumping mechanism, to a regularly pumped micromaser.[2,3] The equation is given by where u is the one-atom gain operator, L is the loss operator corresponding to a cavity with damping time tcav, and r is the rate of atomic excitation.
