Abstract

The one atom micromaser[1] is a fundamental system in quantum optics and is instrumental to the investigation of various quantum phenomena in the radiation-matter interaction. In the present paper we analyze another feature of this fundamental system - the micromaser spectrum - based on the following equation of motion for the density matrix ρn, n+k= ρn(k) of the maser field: Here r is the injection rate of Rydberg atoms whose time of flight through and coupling strength with the cavity field are given by τ and g, respectively. The cavity decay rate is denoted by γ and nb is the mean thermal photon number.
