Abstract

Theoretical extensions of Lamb's treatment1 of a two-level atom in an intense optical standing wave revealed a series of multiphoton processes which have been named Dopplerons.2 The effects of Doppleron resonances have been observed on the internal coordinates of CH3F atoms in a gas cell.3
