Abstract
A review of the current status of squeezed state generation and an anaysis of squeezing in nondegenerate four-wave mixing in two-level atoms are given. The case of intracavity cavity four-wave mixing with a noncollinear pump is analyzed and compared to the recent experiments of Slusher et at.1 For comparison the cases of a collinear pump and perfect phase matching are considered. The conditions for optimum squeezing are calculated.
