Polymer-Clad Silicon on Insulator Slot Modulator

Abstract

A commercially fabricated slot waveguide is post processed with FIB deposited electrodes and polymer coating to function as a phase modulator. A model for modulation performance based on transmission measurements is used to optimize the structure within commercial rules.
