Abstract

Photodiodes monolithically integrated with low-loss waveguides exhibiting high quantum efficiencies at small lateral photodiode dimensions are important building blocks in optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEICs) for future optical communication systems in the 1.3-1.6-μm wavelength region.
