Abstract

J.M.Beckers1 has suggested a new technique, called "differential speckle interferometry" which consists by measuring the angular displacement between two sets of speckles corresponding to micro-displacements of features in an astronomical object. This method has a wide range of astronomical applications such as stellar rotation and spectroscopic binaries. We report here the first results of an experiment which consist by letting the atmospheric dispersion produce an angular micro-displacement between two sets of speckles and measure it by means of a cross-spectrum analysis2.
