Abstract

A recently developed powerful GaAlAs laser diode has excellent spectral match to absorption band of NdzYAG crystal (808nm) and can provide end-pumping configuration where pump beam well overlaps with transverse resonator modes of YAG laser. These properties allow to build an efficient diode-pumped NdzYAG laser.1 We have stabilized an intra-cavity frequency-doubled NdzYAG laser with a KTiOPO4 (KTP) doubler using a quarter wave plate to decouple the polarization mode interaction inside the cavity.2 With this technique, the green (532nm) laser can be used in a readout system of a tripled density optical disk.3
