Abstract
We have developed a setup that allows to temporally compress highly charged electron bunches (100 fC). The linear chirp of a waterbag bunch is inverted by using the electromagnetic field of a synchronized 3 GHz cavity leading to short (< 100 fs) and high-density electron pulses.
