High-order harmonic generation in ions having many effectively bound states

Abstract

We study the effect of bound states on the generation of the high-order harmonics numerically using a 1-D soft-core potential that models ions having many effectively bound states even in the strong laser field. We find many peaks that are responsible for bound-bound transitions.
