Abstract

Freeform surfaces have almost become a necessity in modern lighting applications. Several methods exist to design those sophisticated contours. While their implementation remains challenging the manufacturing processes introduce further subtleties. In this paper we summarize the methods we implemented in our development and, as a glass manufacturer, elaborate on the additional intricacies to keep in mind.
