Random light counter-propagating in a cavity: intensity, coherence and polarization resonance

Abstract

A new phenomenon of subwavelength switch in the spectral density, and the degrees of coherence and polarization is reported. It appears on interference of counter-propagating replicas of a stationary beam in an open-end cavity.
