Subwavelength structure engineered grating coupler for the 2-μm waveband

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a subwavelength structure engineered focusing grating coupler on an SOI platform for the 2-μm waveband. The measurement results show a high coupling efficiency of -4.0 dB at 2.037 μm and a 1-dB bandwidth of 70 nm.
