Semiconductor optical amplifier used as fibered arbitrary waveform generator for high energy applications

Abstract

Generation of arbitrary-temporally-shaped optical pulses in an all-fiber MOPA seeder system integrating a Semiconductor Optical Amplifier is demonstrated. This system is successfully used as a seeder in a 200 J nanosecond laser chain.
