Using Polarization to Measure Absorption in Cavity Enhanced Spectroscopy

Abstract

We present a method using polarization for molecular absorption readout in a cavity enhanced spectrometer. We demonstrate a double-pass cavity configuration with CO2, attaining a quantum noise-equivalent absorption sensitivity of ~3x10-13 /Hz /cm.
