Abstract

Topological insulators (TIs) feature a striking contrast between insulating bulk behavior and topologically protected conducting states on their surface, which has granted them widespread attention in recent years. Among them, significant interest has been placed on square-root TIs (TI), which display additional phenomena such as their increased amount of band gaps and protected states. The Hamiltonian of these TI systems can be related to that of a parent system after a squaring procedure, and their topological properties are also inherited from it.
