Abstract

Airy beams are an intriguing area of optics, known for their unique properties such as a diffraction-free intensity profile, a parabolic acceleration in the direction of propagation, and a possible orbital angular momentum. These beams also possess self-healing capabilities, meaning that when they interact with obstacles, their phase or amplitude is disturbed, they are able to restore their transverse intensity profile. This makes them particularly useful in turbulent environments.
