Abstract
The nonlinear response of the matter irradiated by the strong light fields is of particular interest for both fundamental studies of laser microplasma properties and practical applications of generated coherent UV/VUV radiation. Gases provides unique properties for such strong field experiments since they are free from optical breakdown and their properties (nonlinearity, ionization cross section, dispersion) can be properly adjusted for a specific interaction regime. Nowadays the most attention is attracted to high harmonic generation (HHG) due to its applicability in attoscience [1]. However, efficient generation of low harmonics is also highly required for time-resolved spectroscopy [2], seeding free electron lasers [3] and other applications.
