Abstract

Bose Einstein condensates offer a very versatile experimental platform for experiments in the spirit of quantum optics. One advantage of this new system compared to traditional quantum optics systems with light is the high fidelity of the detection of atom numbers. Furthermore the effective interaction between the atoms arising from s-wave collisions is much stronger compared nonlinearities available in the photonic systems. Here we report on two different routes to generate highly entangled states with this new experimental system employing inter-species Feshbach enhanced interactions as well as spin changing collisions.
