Abstract

Optical spectroscopy of single quantum dots (QD) has demonstrated their potential for applications in quantum information processing, particularly in the realization of single and entangled photon sources, coherent spin qubits and a spin-photon interface. Recent experiments have established this system as a new paradigm for solid-state quantum optics, with a potential impact not only in quantum optics but also in many-body condensed matter physics.
