Optical Bistable Response in Inhomogenous Molecular Aggregates with Exciton-Exciton Annihilation

Abstract

In the last time, the possibility to observe a bistable behaviour in the optical response of linear aggregates is discussed. The effect originates from the dynamical resonance frequency shift with the population of the system and consists in a sudden switching of the population from a low level to a higher one with increasing the pump intensity.
