Multisubband calculations of electron-electron scattering rates in semiconductor quantum wells

Abstract

An estimation of electron-electron scattering rates is necessary to gauge the thermalisation times of nonequilibrium distributions and the population relaxation times of electrons in quantum well subbands. These rates are also significant in determining the decay rate of a polarisation established in the material.
