Abstract

The theory of quantum measurement is still one of the most problematic subjects among the foundations of quantum mechanics since it challenges the self-consistency of the quantum theory. One particular question is whether quantum decoherence is of pure statistical nature, implying a large number of measurement acts, or it wavefunction collapses do occur.
