Abstract
Recently, a Monte Carlo Wave Function (MCWF) formalism [1] has been proposed as a model to picture the dynamics of an atom or a quantized electromagnetic field subjected to dissipative processes described through a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian and random collapses of the wave-function or quantum-jumps This method has been used with big success to obtain new insights into the physical mechanisms of the interaction between atoms and light, and to simplify the calculations when a large number of quantum states are involved.
