The influence of quantum confinement on exciton - acoustic-phonon scattering in (Zn,Cd)Se / ZnSe quantum wells

Abstract

Time-integrated four-wave-mixing (TI-FWM) has been used to study the coherence lifetime (T2) of excitons in (Zn,Cd)Se / ZnSe multiple quantum wells. It is well-known that an increase in either the temperature (T) or excitation density (N) will cause a decrease in T2 (see e g.1), corresponding to a broadening in the exciton linewidth γ.
