Abstract

The large dipole moment which can be achieved in coherent plasmons [1] makes these excitations a promising source for pulsed THz radiation. We present a new generation process of coherent plasma excitations which emit intense few-cycle THz radiation [2]. Our time-resolved experiments on the emitted THz pulses reveal the plasmon excitation and damping dynamics.
