Abstract

In 1974, D.W. Rein [1] then G. Marx [2] and V. Letokhov [3] suggested that the spontaneous symmetry breaking encountered in biological molecules could be due to a slight energy difference between the levels of right- and left-handed enantiomeric molecules, induced by weak interactions. The experimental evidence of a parity violation effect in the spectrum of chiral molecules is still a challenge today. The theoretical estimation is between 10-16 and 10-13.
