Abstract
The discovery of BaB2O4 (BBO) and LiB3O5 (LBO) about 10 years ago led to increase the interest of non-linear optics applications. BBO and LBO are well known for their large nonlinear coefficients, wide transparancy range and a very high damage threshold allowing second harmonic generation and others parametric process. Nevertheless the difficulty to grow, easily, large size of crystals has limited their use.
