Abstract

Recently Bose-Einstein condensation (DEC) of weakly interacting atomic vapors has been demonstrated [1]. The aim of reaching the corresponding Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition (KTT) for cold gases in two-dimensional (2D) traps has not been achieved so far and is hunted by several experimental groups working with spinpolarized hydrogen [2].
