Abstract
The ionization and dissociation dynamics of molecular hydrogen in a strong optical radiation field has attracted much interest during the past few years. It is the simplest molecular system to study the interplay between nuclear and electronic motion at non perturbative electromagnetic field strengths. Strong field electronic phenomena like multiphoton ionization (MPI), above threshold ionization (ATI), or tunnel ionization, and molecule specific effects as there are bond softening, light induced bound slates, and above threshold dissociation (ATD) have been observed (see ref. 1 and refs. cited there).
