Abstract
Lasing without inversion (LWI) became a subject of many theoretical and some experimental works, see e.g., Ref. 1 and references therein. Although it is termed "lasing without inversion," in many cases hidden inversion, in a suitably transformed reference frame, is responsible for light amplification.
