Abstract

Recently several experimental schemes have been envisioned where QND measurements are used for generating required states of the field.1-3 In our method we send one atom in its ground state through an interferometer (Fig. 1) comprising an opaque screen (modeling a real potential distribution for the atom) with N slits on it and a cavity filled by a nonresonant optical standing wave.
