Realistic optical homodyne measurements and quasiprobability distributions

Abstract

In realistic (inefficient) optical homodyne measurements s-parametrized quasiprob-ability distributions are measured where s is related to detection noise. Degenerate parametric amplification of the signal before measuring it is a way to reduce homodyne-detection noise.
