Distributed Polarization Dependent Loss Monitoring using Polarization Resolved Pilot Tone

Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel scheme to monitor polarization dependent loss of lightpath segments distributedly using polarization resolved pilot tone technology. Better than 0.1 dB accuracy is achieved.
