Abstract

A prototype of submarine cable with 4-core uncoupled MCF was demonstrated. Through 5,350-km transmission trials using this MCF, no performance degradation due to the cabling process was observed. Also, reduction in the number of fan-in fan-outs in the transmission line contributed to improving transmission performance.
