Abstract
We propose a 2D/3D imaging screen using an integral imaging method and a holographic optical element. To represent 2D and 3D images on one screen, we record two different optical elements, which are a simple mirror for the 2D imaging and a lens-array for the 3D imaging, in a holographic material by applying a spatial multiplexing technique with a polarization modulation. The mirror region acts as the normal 2D screen and the lens-array region enables 3D imaging by the principle of the integral imaging. Experimental results show that the 2D images and the integrated 3D images are successfully represented simultaneously.
